Quinoa is a herbaceous plant native to the Andean America, specifically in the basin of Titicaca, between Peru and Bolivia, where they are as many varieties and cultivated since pre-Inca times. Reaches a size of 0.5 to 2m in height, has a straight or branched stem and its color is variable, seeds which constitute the greater part of nutritional value, are small granules with diameters between 1.8 and 2.2 mm, varied color: there are white, brown, yellow, pink, gray, red and black. The average yields obtained are between 1,500 to 2,000 kg. / Ha.
